November 14, 2008 -- On Saturday, December 6, the Reunion Blues gig bag company is unveiling San Jose’s first “Vintage Guitars Road Show” at Guitar Showcase, offering musicians free appraisals and opportunities with industry producers, collectors, and players in the area.

Vintage guitar experts will be on hand helping to assess current market values for guitars and basses ranging from the unused and forgotten to the priceless relic. Reunion Blues is offering this Road Show to help musicians gain a sense of current market value for that old guitar or bass.

“We are participating with Reunion Blues in this event primarily because we believe musical instruments should be played, not stashed in the attic collecting dust.” Said Guitar Showcase president Gary Wineroth. “Most importantly, this Vintage Guitar Road Show concept will provide a rare social networking opportunity for local musicians to get out, get together and help one another get more gigs.”

All attendees will also have the opportunity to enter a drawing for any Reunion Blues guitar bag in the store, and receive a free subscription to Premier Guitar Magazine online.

The event will start at 10:30 AM with the last appraisal at 4:30 in the afternoon. Guitar Showcase is located at 3090 S Bascom Ave., San Jose, CA 95124.

I tend to consider guitars from the 60's as vintage. I don't believe a Silvertone classical will command a large sum of money, but hey if it plays great you're a step ahead of a lot of people with guitars!

I have a Silvertone classical made in the 1960s. Is this considered a vintage guitar?
